What is DMXCOM?
It is a program that will patch your X-COM saved game files to give you
$320 million, will heal all of your wounded soldiers, will max-out
your soldiers attributes, will speed up (complete) the building of base
facilities, and will place 1000 units of Elerium-115/Alien Alloys
at your 1st base, and more.
What version will this program work with?
It has been tested with version 1.2.
How do I use it?
Just place the program in your XCOM directory, and type DMXCOM.
Why $320 million?
Some editors I have seen allow you to have in excess of $2 billion. The
problem with this is that if you try to sell anything, your money will
exceed the allowed value, and you will actually end up with a negative
balance. $320 million is plenty of money, and will allow you to buy
anything you desire.
Why would I want to heal my soldiers?
More times than not, your wounded soldiers are your best soldiers. Some
take over a month to heal. Just run this patch, and they will be available
for reassignment to your landing ships.
What happens when I max-out my soldiers attributes?
Your soldiers abilities will be increased to their fullest. You will be able
to walk farther, shoot harder, and take more damage. All of your attributes
will be set to 170, except for Bravery (110 is the max for this) and
Strength (I set this to 100 because of the Microprose strength bug).
What happens to my facilities when I speed up production?
Instead of taking many days to finish, select this option and whatever
facilities you are currently building will be completed.
Why can I only give my 1st base some Elerium-115/Alien Alloys?
To be honest, I couldn't see wasting the code to do this when you can
easily select Transfer and transfer what you need to other bases. I chose
1000 units due to the fact that this stuff does count against your
stores, and if you have too many units, you will not be able to purchase
anything until you either build a new store, or sell/transfer what you
have. I have found 1000 units to be sufficient for game play. If you need
more, re-run the patch.
10 PSI-Amps?
If you select the option to max out your soldiers attributes, you will
have PSI capability (the ability to use mind control on aliens). However,
you need PSA-Amps to amplify these powers. This option gives your 1st base
10 PSI-Amps. I do not give more than two persons an Amp, and they are
usually the ones who are going into the alien ship. 10 Amps will get
you going, if you need more, just transfer the 10 away from your 1st base
and then run the cheat again.
I have 10 saved games. Why can I only modify the 1st one?
The unregistered version of DMXCOM will allow you to modify only the games
saved in the first saved game position. Most users will find this satisfactory.
What does RUN XCOM do?
If you are a registered user, you will be able to launch X-COM from within
the cheat. This will keep you from having to exit the cheat, and then run
X-COM. If you are an unregistered user, choosing this will just cause the
button to depress.
What happens when I select Unprotect?
If you are a registered user, your X-COM game will be patched to remove
the copy protection. When the protection screen comes up, all you have to
do is hit <RETURN>. No more looking up the codes. You only have to run this
once. You must have the game installed on your hard disk. The unprotect
will not work if you run off of CD-ROM. When you register I will tell you
how to set up your CD files to run off of the hard drive.
If you are an unregistered user, choosing this will just cause the button
to depress.
Uh Oh. Here comes the sales pitch. What's the difference between registered
and unregistered?
Here are the differences: a) The registered version allows you to update any saved
game, while the unregistered only allows you to update game 1; b) The
registered version will have your name emblazoned for all to see; c) The
registered version will allow you to bypass the copy protection of X-COM; and
d) The registered version allows you to run X-COM without exiting the cheat.
Since most people will find that the unregistered version will suffice, it
should be obvious that I am not out to become rich off of this. If you want to
be able to patch the other games, etc, register.
What if I don't want to register?
No one will come knocking on your door at 3 am and ask to see your papers.
If modifying game 1 is sufficient to your needs, then enjoy my program.
Let's say I want to register. What do I need to do?
Registration is only $7.00 (US). Upon receipt of your payment, I will send
you the latest registered version personalized to you.
How long will it take to get my registered copy?
If you pay by check, I will have to wait until the check clears (usually one
week). Money orders, etc will be shipped the next day.
Where do I send the payment?

What? No legal mumbo jumbo?
Oh yeah, almost forgot. While this program has been tested on several machines,
I have no way of knowing what your set-up is. There is always a slight chance you
have a incompatible system. I cannot be held responsible to any problems caused
by this program. I have written it in good faith, and do not forsee any problems
occurring. If you want to be safe, save your game in two different slots, then
run this program. If something bad happens, just reload your other saved game.
This program may not be sold by anyone else. A small processing fee may be
charged for disk duplication, etc, but no fee may be charged for this program.
Special note for users who have already registered-
If you send me a self-addressed stamped envelope with a floppy disk inside,
I will send you this version free of charge. It will be registered to you
as is the version you currently own. This also will apply to XCOM-II, if
I am able to write a cheat for it. So if you see a DMXCOM cheat for II, send
me a disk and an SASE, and I will send you the cheat.
Other stuff:
DMXCOM was written using Microsoft Visual C++ version 1.5. The menu routines
and mouse routines were created using a program call MENUPRG (found as
MENUPRG.ZIP on most BBS's). These routines are copyrighted by Carlos Diaz.
